Wilson Commencement Park (WCP) is hosting its 14th annual “Snow Ball” gala on Saturday, January 31, 2009 at a prestigious country club. This year’s ‘Pirate of the Caribbean’ themed gala will be chaired by the Ten Ugly Men. For the past 2 year’s Wilson Commencement Park has been one of the beneficiaries of the Ten Ugly Men festival and has so far received over $50,000 in donations. This year’s gala fundraiser will include dancing to Atlas, gourmet dinner stations, games of chance, and the popular silent auction.

Wilson Commencement Park is a non-profit organization opened in 1991 to help low-income, single parent families achieve economic stability. WCP’s mission is to help families who are struggling to overcome the effects of homelessness, domestic violence, mental illness, substance abuse and chronic unemployment to realize their dreams of economic self-sufficiency and family stability. The Early Learning Center at Wilson Commencement Park is one of the first early childhood programs to earn re-accreditation from the National Association for the Education of Young Children (NAEYC) – the nation’s leading organization of early childhood professionals.
