" Ballroom Dancing Recital a Hit at City Hall"
Sixteen of Wilson Commencement Park’s Early Learning Center after-school “School Age” children wowed Rochester’s Mayor Bob Duffy and about a hundred members of his staff and the public. The performance took place in the Rochester City Hall Atrium on October 31. The children danced to Joe Romano’s “Forever Love” and the classic tango, La Cumparsita composed by Gerardo Matos Rodríguez.
The performance was the culmination of a Ballroom Dancing program for the School Age children directed by Ms. Frances Hare of Kuumba Consultants. This program was made possible and funded by the Arts and Cultural Council for Greater Rochester, the New York State Council on the Arts, and the New York State Legislature. Our thanks go out to all of them, and especially to the children who worked so hard to prepare and perform; putting a good face out to the community for Wilson Commencement Park.
