"Wilson Commencement Park beneficiary of the Ford Friendship Express, 2008 Van Giveway Event.”
The Rochester – Area Ford Dealers, represented by Doug Indovina (Chairman of the Western New York Ford Dealers), Randy Henderson and Tom Shepard selected Wilson Commencement Park (WCP) as recipient of an all-new Ford Econoline van.
The Ford Friendship Express program started in 1996. Over the last 12 years, the program has donated well over 50 vehicles to area not-for-profits to help with day-to-day operations.
During the presentation, Doug Indovina pointed out that many programs offered at WCP make this organization special to the Ford Dealers, but one of the most incredible services offered is the Early Learning Center (ELC). The ELC is a state-of-the-art learning center that provides childcare for WCP residents and neighborhood children, and is among 7 percent of all pre-kindergarten schools accredited by the National Association for the Education of Young Children (NAECY).
Sean Tracy-Hamilton, Interim Executive Director accepted the key with great appreciation on behalf of the staff and clients of Wilson Commencement Park. The van will enable WCP to provide reliable transportation for residents to medical appointments, jobs, and training sessions, as well as transporting equipment for its Early Learning Center.
