"Ten Ugly Men present check to Wilson Commencement Park"

The 19th annual Ten Ugly Men (TUM) festival took place on Saturday, July 26th at Genesee Valley Park. The day was filled with fantastic foods, incredible bands including the popular 70’s band, The Gin Blossoms. The TUM sporting tournaments included volleyball, dodgeball, kickball and Bocce ball for adults. The children were entertained by slip and slide as well as inflatable kid games.

The Ten Ugly Men festival is not just about having a good time at a great party. The festival is about Michael Hartman, Mark Palvino, John Fitzsimmons, Michael Perotta, Alan Wood, Larry Casey, Brad Quigley, Mike Geisler, Dwight Barksdale, Alan Lagonegro and Kerry Gotham’s tireless generosity to support local charities. The 2008 beneficiaries include: Wilson Commencement Park, Bright Eyes Fund for Pediatric Brain Tumor Treatment at Golisano’s Children’s Hosptial, St. Mary’s Oncology, Equicenter and Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation.

On October 28, the Ten Ugly Men represented by Michael Hartman, Brad Quigley, John Fitzsimmons, Mark Palvino, Larry Casey, Alan Wood, Dwight Barksdale, and Kerry Gotham presented a check to Wilson Commencement Park with proceeds raised from the 2008 Ten Ugly Men Festival at Genesee Valley Park.

These 11 generous (not present Michael Geisler, Alan Lagonegro and Michael Perrotta) fun-loving guys gave $27,200 from the total proceeds raised to the Park to help low-income, single-parent families achieve self-sufficiency.
