ELc Fund

Wilson Commencement Park’s Early Learning Center (ELC) first opened its doors in 1991. Thanks to the leadership and dedication of G. Jean Howard, the ELC thrived and became a staple of quality early education and child care in Rochester’s lowest-income community.

Wilson Commencement Park’s ELC primarily serves families from communities which experience significant concentrations of poverty, crime, unemployment, low education, and limited opportunity for advancement. With state, county, and city funding cuts, many families often can no longer afford high quality early education for their children. These families need your help!

To celebrate G. Jean Howard’s legacy of giving back to the community to help children, Wilson Commencement Park launched the G. Jean Howard Early Education Tuition Assistance Fund.

Children need your help today! The G. Jean Howard Early Education Tuition Assistance Fund will help close the funding gap and allow Wilson Commencement Park to provide tuition assistance to families in need so their children can continue to benefit from the state-of-the-art child care and academic enrichment programs offered at the ELC.

Did you know? Compared to peers, disadvantaged children who receive high quality early education are more likely to:

  • Gain and retain employment
  • Have increased monthly employment earnings
  • Own a home
  • Complete a higher level of education
  • Avoid the need for social services
  • Avoid incarceration

Research shows that over a child’s lifetime, high quality early education can return to the public an estimated $7.16 for every $1.00 invested! Support early education for all children by donating to the G. Jean Howard Early Education Tuition Assistance Fund using our secure PayPal account today!
